Marlowe & Finch Hotels
A booking-focused redesign that simplified a confusing multi-step reservation flow and cut mobile bounce rate on the pages that mattered most.
Where things stood before
Most of Marlowe & Finch’s traffic was arriving on mobile, but the booking flow was built for desktop first — five steps, small tap targets, and a room-availability calendar that was genuinely hard to use on a phone.
Guests were dropping off before completing a reservation, and the team suspected — correctly — that the booking experience itself was the problem, not the property or pricing.
What we built
We redesigned the booking flow around mobile from the start, cutting it down to two clear steps with real-time room availability built directly into the page.
The rest of the site was rebuilt around the same mobile-first approach, so the booking flow feels like a natural continuation of browsing rather than a separate, clunkier process.
- Booking flow reduced from 5 steps to 2
- Real-time availability built into the page
- Mobile-first design across the full site
- Faster load times on booking-critical pages
